Dr. Marieka Miller
History
My professional experience, academic emphasis, and personal passion is working with children and families yet my background and interests are diverse. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Children and Families from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, and have worked in my private practice for the past twelves years. My research examines the parental stress experienced by parents raising children diagnosed with Autism, and supporting families affected by autism is a primary focus and passion for me.
I focus on the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions - including launching college-bound teens, supporting high achieving students and athletes. treatment of Autism (including emotion regulation, social skills training, and parent support), Sensory Processing Disorder, stress reduction - utilizing Mindfulness techniques, and parent coaching/training.
I help clients find their inner strengths, wisdom, and deeper understanding of themselves. In my opinion, the therapeutic connection or relationship is the most important aspect of any therapeutic process. I work to treat clients with respect, care and compassion.
